About & Manifest
The plugin you'd write, if you had the afternoon. The one you get, when you take longer.
All of these started with a single gripe. Something in WordPress that just isn't quite right. Good enough to carry on, bad enough to cost me time whenever I run into it.
There is no team here. I'm Kristoff, and I write all of it: the code, the documentation, these pages, and the reply when you email in. This is Freshet: the whole studio, the plugins, and the point of them.
My days are often spent building WordPress sites: larger builds, real client work, the kind with years of content behind them and dozens of people editing them every day. That is where the gripes come from. Nothing here was designed in the abstract — each one is something I needed on a live site first, and only afterwards thought other people might need too.
So: no behemoths. Nothing here wants to be your page builder or SEO suite or annoy you with an intrusive dashboard widget or upsell notice. Each plugin does its one job — find media that is genuinely unused, raise an upload limit, allow pixel-perfect work without that pesky admin bar. It's here for you.
Doing one thing really well is unusually tricky. WordPress is a longstanding, awesome, quirky platform, and things aren't always as reliable as one might expect. And the honest version of a small feature usually turns out much larger than it looks. Which is why I finally took a little longer than an afternoon. Thank you for reading.
